Client: Midwest Independent System Operator (Midwest ISO), Carmel IN
Mr.
Bradley managed the on time and on budget development, integration and
test of the Technology Segment of the Midwest ISO Midwest Market Initiative
(MMI). This system, based in Carmel, IN, provides a crucial capability
in the control and efficiency of the power system in the central and
upper Midwest states and one Canadian province and builds on an existing
system that currently monitors the reliability, safety and power flows
in the electricity system covering 97,000 miles of interconnected, high-voltage
power transmission lines. The Midwest ISO's MMI is a hardware and software
intensive system that controls the operations of power generation and
distribution companies in the network. Essentially the system monitors
the generation of electricity and the demand for power within the grid,
and based on real time determinations, sends dispatch signals to power
generating companies so electricity can be delivered to users by the
most efficient and cheapest route with the goals to reduce costs and
ensure fair access to the grid. The market portion of the operation
-- much like a stock exchange provides a market for equities -- allows
users to buy power at the lowest rate available in the system. The MMI
will enable the energy markets for wholesale electricity in the Midwestern
U.S. This system facilitates the world's largest energy market.
Client:
Raytheon - Northeast Systems Engineering, Marlboro, MA
Mr.
Bradley led a gap analysis of the Raytheon Northeast Systems Engineering
organization's engineering process in preparation for a CMMI Class A
SCAMPI Assessment. Key efforts included identifying, quantifying and
recommending how to close the gaps, creating necessary documentation,
and designing and delivering tailored training to over 50 managers and
engineers in preparation for the CMMI Assessment. These efforts were
considered instrumental in securing a CMMI Level 3 Certification and
winning praise from the assessment team.
